Life of the city.

A contrast of two aspects of city life.
Builders and workers give birth to the infrastructure of the city.
On the other hand young people, whose transient and frequent use of the city, make it vibrant and lively.

What is Life of the City?

Life of the City is a program of artist workshops with young people, channelling their creative energies into a productive image making project.
This will culminate in a series of large-scale projections onto city buildings: a powerful cultural event.

The theme of the image creation will be structured around the issues of life of the city in the process of construction.

The emphasis of the image making will be upon the constructive use of your energies and your positive interaction with the city.
Gallery visits with the group will provide an insight of the rich cultural environment the City of Melbourne has to offer and connect with further opportunities for career pathways.

What will the participants be doing?
Using disposable cameras, professional photographic gear and digital imagery the final images will be collated and given narrative by the artist in conjunction with you as a collective experience.
Through the active participation of youth and guidance of the artist the collective will image and pay tribute to the lives and work of construction workers and youth who contribute so much to the life of the city.
